About our Headmaster

Mr. Bryan Hilburn, Hills Academy Headmaster

Mr. Bryan Hilburn was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Although he and his family are faithful Oklahoma University fans, he followed the footpaths of his father and grandfather and attended Langston University. In 2001, Mr. Hilburn obtained his undergraduate degree in computer science and shortly after, moved to Atlanta, Georgia. His early years in Atlanta were spent as a foster parent/director for a boys group home.  Following his tenure at the group home, Mr. Hilburn became a paraprofessional for Dekalb County.

Serving the students and families of DeKalb County, revealed his mission in life as an educator and mentor. Mr. Hilburn enrolled in Walden University’s master program for education. While completing his graduate degree, he was hired by Dekalb County as a provisional special education teacher at Oak View elementary school. Mr. Hilburn established a male mentorship program and was elected department chair during his three years at Oak View elementary.  Following his teaching experience for Dekalb County, Mr. Hilburn obtained his teaching certificate in special education math/science and later worked for Gwinnett and Rockdale counties as a co-taught special education math and science teacher.

His passion for students, especially middle school boys, inspired him to design a program which will meet their diverse needs. In 2017, Mr. Hilburn and his wife, Tiffany, established a private school for boys in Rockdale County. Mr. Hilburn is currently serving as headmaster;  he looks forward to partnering with families and the community to provide a quality academic program which will positively impact the lives of each student.
